Pensaassa on tulossa vieläkin useita
kurkkuja.

Hello to every gardener and botanist there! I write this update about cucumber (cucumis sativus) variety 'Rhensk Druv' which I have this summer grown ( kuva 1) and about making it produce. I can tell that I found at once the variety which I might be cultivating at the years to come. So, the varietys cucumbers grow to typically 5-15 cm and this is when they are picked.
Variety is also enourmously beautiful to watch since it climbs and branches like a liana if only it has enought space to grow and opens numerous large yellow good scenting flowers that draw especially bees and bumblebees ( kuva 2) towards and from the pests somewhat, it seems, Silver Y or generally owletmoths of whose caused
damage is just now and then caused eating tracks in leaves. Well, I do not hold much of grudge since the harvest itself doesn't get damage from that and I love photoshooting insects. Of course, if there would be more of the pests and their larvae then the damage would be more large and one would have interfere. The first 'ripe' cucumber is photographed in kuva 3. As you see, it was really large and was also heavy piece, model looking and taste enruptured me completelly. Now there is about 10 more cucumbers growing in the bush.
I did not use the variety as a salten cucumber ( which is prepared throught lactatic acid brewing ) or as a pickle ( throught vinegar) but took it directly to the foodtable. The spikes or hairs of cucumber one can remove easily by combing gently with soft brush or with hand. The bush has several cucumbers growing. The reason why I say 'ripe' in connection to the topic is due to the fact that cucumbers can be used from early maturity stages and if I would have waited for a moment still the cucumber would surely have grown still more. Variety is fast growing, beautiful and easy to care so I can recommend it from beginnger to those just want a good and productive cucumber. Variety grows, in my case, in a pot at balcony of nuclear centrum of Helsinki, I grew it from seed and the seedlings that I have given to others have produced good harvest at the lands of houses so I could say that the variety is pretty modest about its growing conditions.
